Flexibility benefit

Flexibility benefits provide you with a worry-free travel experience, whatever the situation: deal with unforeseen events thanks to our flexible access system, receive traffic information on your mobile, and book your onboard services in advance.

Prepare for your journey: check traffic information

Stay informed whatever the state of traffic. In the case of a serious disruption to Thalys services, you are informed by text message* or e-mail* that way ou are able to arrange your journey. If you booked Thalys TheCard services to tie in with your journey, Thalys TheCard Call Center takes care of modifying or cancelling them at your request.

Wherever you are, you can check train timetables and information about your journey or our network.

* If you have entered your Thalys No. when you made the booking and if you have agreed to receive this information when you registered or in the Profile section of your account.

Pre-booking of on board services

If you are a Platinium or Platinium+ Member, when you travel in Comfort 1 between Paris and Brussels during meal times, you can pre-book your meal tray and/or a newspaper, which will be brought to your seat. You can pre-book on board services between 2 weeks and 2 days before your departure date.

Travel with complete peace of mind even if the un­ex­pected occurs

Travel with freedom and peace of mind whatever happens. Have you just missed your train, or do you want to take an earlier Thalys? With your Thalys TheCard card and a ticket at the Flex fare, you can take any other Thalys on the day - free of charge. A Semi-Flex fare allows you to board trains leaving directly before and after the train for which you hold a ticket.
With the Platinium+ Card, you can board any train running on the same day of the ticket you have with you, regardless of the actual fare*.
Before boarding the train, show your Thalys TheCard, and your ticket (if you are not travelling Ticketless), to the Train Manager so that he can show you an available seat.
We can unfortunately not guarantee you a seat or a meal tray in Comfort 1 when you make use of this flexibility. We therefore advise you to exchange your ticket by telephone in advance.

If a delay or an unexpected event prevents you from taking your Thalys, you can easily modify your journey times by telephone (valid for exchangeable tariffs). To do this, look for your Thalys No. on your Card and contact your channel of purchase. In any event, Thalys guarantees you a seat and a meal tray in Comfort 1 (within the limit of seats available).
